Legend Of Lemongrass
Lemongrass is a wonder grass whose medicinal values are numerous. In Latin America, it is also known as “fever grass” because it was used to relieve fever in ancient times.
In Malaysia, lemongrass or “serai” has its roots deep in Malay culture. During 15th Century Malacca, “serai” was sacred. Made into a balm, a warrior would massage it on his body before a fight. It was believed that the balm was potent and when rubbed into the skin accompanied with special prayers a dagger could not be able pierce to his skin. A wound would disappear totally heal from the body when the balm was applied over it. It is said that many a great warriors were exponent of the use of lemongrass.
